Like sweet and salty, these two make for a dope collaboration.
While they might be regarded for their impact on europop and mid-2000’s hits, like “Feel Good Inc.”, Gorillaz are much more than just a revolutionary band. Co-creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett birthed an experience when they formed the group in ‘98; the captivating visuals that are finely woven into the band’s aesthetic have birthed a new universe, rocking the musical creation status quo.
Their transcendence isn’t strictly rooted in architecting mesmerizing moments, though — they know how to diversify musically, too.
Having collaborated with the likes of Del The Funky Homosapien, De La Soul, and Vince Staples, Gorillaz are accustomed to collaborating with the hip-hop world. Most recently, they linked up with fellow groovy artist, ScHoolboy Q, on “Pac-Man.”
