Nav’s feeling some type of way about this.
With Nav’s Bad Habits album dropping tomorrow, and him providing fans a taste by way of last week’s Brown Boy EP, there’s a lot of attention on the XO artist; he hasn’t released a full project in almost one-year since Reckless; The Weeknd is exec producing Bad Habits. However, while there’s well-deserved excitement surrounding this release, it’s been met by some contention as well.
Late last night (March 20th), Nav informed his IG followers that while he really wanted Lil Uzi Vert’s feature on the project, it couldn’t get cleared by DJ Drama and Don Canon.
In his post, Nav wrote, “I know y’all wanted habits on the album … I had an open verse for the longest and Uzi blessed us one. Unfortunately DJ Drama and Don Cannon won’t clear his verse legally. I use to be a big fan of them since Gangsta Grillz mixtapes and always thought they support new artist. I guess it’s all about $$$$ for them now. It’s crazy but it’s true.”
Uzi is signed to Drama and Don Canon’s Generation New label — a joint venture with Atlantic Records.
