Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of Xxxtentacion’s untimely passing. A misunderstood music maven, X’s transparent rhetoric uplifted his wide fan base dealing with the unforgiving demons of depression. Almost as impressive as his impact on his listeners was his impact on his peers.
While he’s currently behind bars, Kodak Black wouldn’t allow his detainment to hinder honoring his fallen brother. According to DJ Scheme, Kodak, who right now isn’t held in high regard by the hip-hop community, bequeathed $50,000 to X’s son, Gekyume — a word that X created.
DJ Scheme tweeted yesterday, “Hey man shout out to @KodakBlack1k for sending 50 fucking bands to Gekyume … That is a real fucking human being.”
Kodak, like X, is a misunderstood individual who frequently gets in his own way. However, underneath his prolific court cases and unsettling comments, Kodak has a good heart.
