Is it really happening…?
After months of delays, rumored elements, and mounting expectations, it looks like Kanye’s next album is finally almost upon on. During an appearance in Indiana the other night, Ye announced on stage that Jesus Is King will be dropping on September 27th.
Originally entitled Yandhi and slated for a 2018 release, Kanye album rumors were reignited recently with Kim Kardashian teased its existence by tweeting a picture of a presumed tracklist. The Twitter sphere was thrown into a frenzy, with conspiracy theorists coming out of the wood works to profess their “truths.”
Now, Ye is here himself to dispel rumors by revealing his own truths — the ones that should be listened to the most closely.
While on stage during said performance in Indiana, Kanye regaled the crowd, and hyped already overwhelming expectations, with the album announcement, saying, “Jesus Is King is out September 27th … I truly believe this is the future of music.”
Given the previous delays and Kanye’s inherent idiosyncrasies, it’s difficult to fully believe that Jesus Is King will drop on the announced date, but if Kanye’s “Sunday Services” have taught us anything, it’s that we need to believe.
