Atlanta has always been a hotbed for talent. From stripper music to fight anthems, they have exactly what you need. Back in 2008, one of its newest contributors was Rodney Hill, better known to the world as Rocko.  He released his debut album, Self Made, with the hit single, “Umma Do Me” spearheading his movement.

From there, the typical music industry red tape followed, which slowed down his hustle, but not his momentum. He dropped mixtapes such as Swag Season, Wild Life, Gift of Gab, and currently Gift of Gab 2.

For those who weren’t up on Gift of Gab 2 when it was first released back in February of this year, odds are that they still got a crash course with one of the lead singles in the Rick Ross and Future-featured U.O.E.N.O.,” which Ross was dropped from the song due to controversial lyrics pertaining to date rape.

This interview was conducted before the firestorm of that spread out, but we were still able to chop it up with Rocko about navigating through the music business, his one-time beef with Jermaine Dupri, being respected in Atlanta, and what’s next on his plate. Now it’s time for you to know.
