The controversial Brooklyn rapper infiltrated both the music industry and gang culture through his “must-see TV” aesthetic, likening him to a car wreck. Sure, you know you should look away, for being a spectator to someone’s misfortune isn’t virtuous, but it’s damn near impossible not to sneak a peek — or become completely fixated.
While some media outlets, including Spotify, have chronicled his story to some extent, the full-length documentary most have been clamoring for has yet to be created — until now. Hulu has come forth with an in-depth look at one of the more interesting hip-hop narratives and polarizing figures of recent memory in 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez. The documentary was released earlier today.
