The Shady Records protégé and mentor collide.
Burgeoning Compton rapper Boogie has taken hip-hop by storm with his debut Shady Records album, Everythings For Sale. Showing a subdued yet pensive Boogie, his January-released album positions him as an artist to be reckoned with and one who is incredibly talented.
Showcasing his garnered industry respect, fellow stars of the future, JID and 6LACK, are featured on the album with “Soho” and “Skydive II”, respectively. Also featured on his debut is none other than the Eminem–a Boogie fan and the man who offered him a record contract–on “Rainy Days”.
Joining the JID-assisted “Soho” video, Boogie and Em have come through with the “Rainy Days” video. Borrowing an aesthetic similarity to the former video, the “Rainy Days” one switches between two sceneries–one, an ominous red room with a narrow, written-on runway that continues into the backdrop; the other, a windowless white room, that eventually turns dark at Eminem’s entrance, covered in scribbled handwriting. Both settings collaborate to contextualize the relatable rainy day narratives that Boogie and Em supply.
