It’s a Chicago x Bay Area connection.
Polo G is enjoying quite the year. Rising from relative obscurity to mainstream prestige, the 20-year-old artist — thanks to hits like “Pop Out” featuring Lil Tjay — is now an in-demand sensation. So when someone so popular decides to remix a contemporary’s track, it’s a great implicit and direct co-sign. Recently, Polo took a stab at Saweetie’s popular “ICY GIRL” single with his own official remix.
Released alongside a music video, directed by Ryan Lynch, Polo G’s new freestyle finds the Chicago artist flowing effortlessly over the Bay Area-inspired production. Despite the relatively unexplored sonic territory, Polo answers the call by exposing another side of his multifaceted artistic self.
