Beyonce has just signed on to play legendary blues singer Etta James in the 1950s period film ‘Cadillac Records.
The movie will center on the Chicago record company Chess Records; its founder, Leondard Chess; and the turbulent lives of some of the label’s most famous artists including Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry.
Beyonce joins a cast that includes Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Cedric The Entertainer.
The singer-actress will also executive produce the project as well as record four songs for its soundtrack.
