In celebration of FREE 6LACK’S one-year anniversary.

It’s been roughly one-year since Atlanta’s 6lack finally found his long-awaited artistic liberation on his debut album, FREE 6LACK. The momentous album—home to hits such as “PRBLMS” and “Ex Calling”—separated him from the densely-crowded “genre blenders,” and lobbied for his place as one of the most alluring emerging artists. To commemorate this anniversary, 6lack has re-released FREE 6LACK with three bonus songs—one solo, one featuring Banks, and one with T-Pain.

The first bonus track, “Glock Six”, is a tonally somber song that is texturized by 6lack’s enchanting raspy vocality. Next, “In Between” featuring Banks is a soulful offering wrapped in a dualistic production, which is brought home by the beautifully sung Banks hook and additional backing vocals. Lastly, the T-Pain-assisted “One Way” is perhaps the greatest microcosm of 6lack’s overall aesthetic: a melting pot of sounds, distilled into a different yet enticing product. It’s quite the way to celebrate an album that changed his life.
