With the first Friday of December upon us, the winter’s icy touch is officially on the horizon — or in full-swing, depending on your location. While the sight of barren trees and snow-covered streets might conjure up feelings of longing for the summer warmth, don’t fret — DJ Forever Cold is back applying his expert filter to this week’s myriad of new music to keep the heat on.
Headlining today’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist are: Rico Nasty, Lil Baby, Hotboii, and Blxst.
Kicking the doors off the hinges with her powerful presence, Rico Nasty has finally come through with her debut album, Nightmare Vacation. While Rico has built a loyal following with commercial appeal, her career has been predicated on a series of strong mixtapes, including the 2019 Kenny Beats-produced Anger Management, an official LP has evaded her discography — until now. Nightmare Vacation is a 16-track effort that continues Rico’s machine gun-like flow and intensity, and features a diverse artist collection, including: Gucci Mane, Don Toliver, Trippie Redd, Aminé, among others. Her Gucci- and Don Toliver-assisted “Don’t Like Me” track has made today’s list.
Next up, the incredibly prolific and expeditious Lil Baby has come through with not one, but two new singles: “Errbody” and “On Me.” Demonstrating his perpetual shelf life, the new Lil Baby offerings fit securely in his impressive catalogue. Both of his new singles have been added to today’s Forever Cold❄️ playlist.
Sticking down south, Hotboii, the burgeoning artist who’s set the industry on fire, keeps his momentum going with another banger of a track, “Menace.” While no one is truly an overnight success, the Florida native has been rising at an exponential pace, earning features from the likes of Lil Baby (“Don’t Need Time” – Remix). With “Menace,” Hotboii is proving that his ascension is far from the summit, for he’s only begun scratching the surface of his potential.
Last, but certainly not least, Los Angeles’ Blxst has delivered the deluxe version of his well-received No Love Lost album. The rising west coast star has supplemented the original eight-track project with six additional songs, including features from Dom Kennedy, Ty Dolla $ign, Tyga, and Bino Rideaux. The Tyga- and Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Chosen” has made today’s list.
